Artist Statement:
Hello, my name is Anthony D. Pajerski. My lifelong interest in art began in childhood, influenced by creative relatives and nurtured through summers spent at an art school directed by my uncle, where I learned fundamental techniques and experiences a vibrant creative community. Though passionate about art, I pursued my other love—science—ultimately earning a doctorate in organic chemistry from Penn State University. My career in polymer science, focused on developing novel biobased and environmentally friendly materials which led to a number of patents, Moreover, it unexpectedly reconnected me with art. Working with polymers and colorants inspired me to experiment with them as painting media, leading to years of exploration and refinement before I developed a visual language that felt both authentic and unique.
I began publicly exhibiting my work on September of 2025 while continuing to explore and develop my artistic style
Artistic Vision:
My work investigates how light's effect on color can be further exploited through variations in surface texture as well as gloss (reflected vs refracted) and transparency vs opacity to create more dynamic interactions of color with light. This is combined with an emphasis on extending forms into or out of the canvas and creating sharp transitions, I aim to draw viewers into deeper contemplation of the paintings intent and provide an entertaining visual escape from the ordinary. My works are often mistaken for stained glass, though they are paintings. Hope you enjoy.
About the Artist
FAQ
What is your art?
I target unique and authentic contemporary pieces which can be considered abstract expressionism. My artistic style is often confused as stained glass though it is not. Maybe it can be considered a painted form or alternative to stained glass. As such, it offers a greater flexibility in its intended appearance and is not as delicate and heavy as glass.
